Star Defensive player Juliana Hammet emphasized the team’s determination heading into the game, stating, “We are going into the game with a drive to win. Our focus is on performing the fundamentals like not having vertical sticks, staying disciplined, and avoiding all unnecessary penalties at all costs.”

The Patriots wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, scoring 3 goals in the first quarter and scoring 2 more goals in the second quarter to build a lead. Their attack kept the Eagles on the edge, while Northern’s defense made it nearly impossible for North Point to get scoring opportunities. Going into the half, Patriots held a comfortable 5-0 lead over the Eagles.

Northern continued to capitalize on their lead going into the third quarter, adding 3 more goals to extend their lead to 8-0. Their offense remained clean and controlled the ball for most of the quarter. The Eagles managed to break through scoring a single goal in the third quarter, but the Patriots defense regrouped and prevented any further scoring. In the fourth quarter, the Patriots sealed their victory with 2 more goals, ending an impressive 10-1 win.

Head Coach Siobhan Millham said, “The team focused on fundamentals and going through the regular motions this week, focusing on team chemistry and connection. We did not practice any differently, but we practiced more intense to prepare for in game situations.”

Standout performances came from multiple players, with key contributions coming from Northern’s goalkeeper, Hailey Kovask, who allowed just one goal the entire match. “My main focus this game was to protect the net and not allow any easy goals. My defenders did an amazing job limiting North Point’s shot attempts, which made my job much easier.” With this win, Northern improves their record and continues to build momentum in conference. Their strong performance against North Point is great sign as they prepare for harder competitors ahead.
