A detailed breakdown of the next summer Olympics.

Now that the winter olympics have come to a close we turn our focus to the summer Olympics slated to be held in North America. These Olympics are set to be nothing short of extraordinary with plenty of controversy, excitement and new events.

First off, all the new events. The events that are being added to the Olympics include Flag Football, Squash, Cricket, Lacrosse, and Baseball/Softball (Which were excluded in the 2024 Paris Olympics)

Another notable part of the Olympics is the sheer scale of the event. Over 11,000 athletes from approximately 200 countries will compete in 36 different sports across 351 metal events. This scale requires new advancements in sports arenas and capacity. SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles is set to be transformed into the largest Olympic swimming venue in history seating 38,000-40,000 spectators.

Transportation is also typically a big issue during the Olympics. In order to prevent traffic issues the mayor of LA recently committed to accelerating the 28 by 28 initiative, a metro system expected to increase connectivity. LA also aims for 100% renewable electricity and is targeting zero waste to combat potential environmental concerns.

Regardless of how difficult the Olympics are to host, they are a consistent spectacle that never fail to amaze. A rallying point at both the national and international level.
