Crumbl Cookie Dirt Cake

A review of one of Crumbls weekly lineups

Huge appetizing cookies wrapped in bright pink have risen in popularity over the last few months. Crumble Cookies was founded by Jason Mcgowan and Sawyer Hemsley in 2017. The company has 862 stores across the United States and with their strong social media presence it continues to grow. A big appeal factor for Crumbl is that they change their cookie flavors every week. For the last weekend of October, Crumbl came out with five new Halloween themed flavors. Pumpkin Cake, Cake Batter Blondie, Dirt Cake, Peanut Butter ft. Reeses Pieces, Blue Monster ft. Chips Ahoy, and their regular semi-sweet Chocolate Chunk.

Mikayla Jones and I went to Crumbl to see what the rave was all about. We started with the Peanut Butter ft. Reeses Pieces, we figured it was the most basic out of the bunch. Unfortunately, we were surprised how overwhelming the taste of peanut butter was, to the point it was disgusting. The second one we tried was the Blue Monster Chips Ahoy cookie. With its brown sugar and semi sweet chocolate chips baked in, this was by far one of the best out of the box. Unlike the Reeses one, this was a cold cookie. It came with a mini Chips Ahoy cookie on top with light blue icing. The only downside to this cookie was it was really hard to bite into. Dirt Cake was the third one we tried. This was Mikayla and Iā€™s number 1 cookie. It had a chocolate base with fudge icing and a gummy worm to top it off. The cookie was warm, but in contradiction, the fudge was cold. Mikayla and I ate this whole cookie by ourselves!

Pumpkin is a staple of fall, with pumpkin flavored drinks, scented candles, and many decorations there’s also pumpkin flavored cookies. The Pumpkin Cake was what Mikayla was most excited for. To preface this, I hate pumpkin and I am not a big fan of cake either. It was a pumpkin flavored cake with caramel cream cheese frosting. To be completely honest, it wasn’t anything special. The cake was so moist that it was literally collapsing in our hands. The pumpkin flavor was almost nonexistent. The soft cream cheese icing was definitely the best part without it, I believe it would have been terrible. Even Mikyala didn’t think very highly of this one.

Unfortunately, we did not get to try the Cake Batter Blondie as it was sold out. We also didn’t try the semi-sweet chocolate chunk, this is a flavor that they have regularly. Overall only half of the cookies we thought were worth the insane price.
