News & Note
Every year, the annual New Year’s ball drop occurs in Times Square, New York City. The majority of the time things go smoothly and everyone celebrates the welcoming of the New Year. Although, this year some of the audience were left with eyebrows raised. Those watching at home took a notice to the minute delay of the ball drop, dropping at 12:01 instead of midnight on the dot, and not being visibly shown on television. Yet another detail which users on social media noticed was the similarity of the six in 2026 to a four. “Why does the 6 look like a 4? Something weird is going on.” Stated @TruthSeeker on Facebook. Some went as far as to say that host Ryan Seacrest looked AI generated. Though, all these minor suspicions don’t define what’s to come in 2026.
