A new season of “The Outer Banks” season is officially out on Netflix, made up of two parts. Along with that, the characters from the previous seasons are back on the screen, like JJ Maybank, Sarah Cameron, and Rafe Cameron. Part one of the season came out October tenth, while the second part was released about a month later, having its debut on the seventh of November.
“The Outer Banks” is a viral show on Netflix, that originally takes place on the barrier islands of North Carolina, the Outer Banks. It follows a group called the Pogues, made up with the main characters, to look for certain treasure. Along with looking for treasure, they go on all sorts of missions, so they can save their home and those around them.
Both parts of the season contain hot new details, and juicy plot twists, some which were heavily spoiled online. Within the first week that both parts came out, the show climbed rapidly to the #1 most watched list on Netflix. Its popularity spread all over TikTok, with fans having very strong opinions about it, leaving many people starstruck as to what unfolded during the two parts of this season.
A very wide opinion is that it has some similarities to the original, since in the first half of the season, they spend a great deal of time back at home in the OBX. One student, sophomore Natalie Heisler stated, “I felt like it was really sad at the end, but it was nice and nostalgic, which I really liked about it.” Another sophomore, Alexis Baldwin, in the same grade stated, “It was a lot better, and way more entertaining.”
Some people, however, think it one-upped the earlier seasons. Sophomore Alex Rubio stated, “This season was pretty good compared to the other seasons, and more action packed compared to the other seasons.” With this new season, their characters have developed much more than how they were originally in the first season. One person who developed the most, who has a very noticeable change compared to the earlier seasons, is Rafe Cameron, where he starts to somewhat get along with the Pogues, instead of resenting them.
Netflix also created an event that originally started in California named Poguelandia that was dedicated to the fans, where they could meet the actors, and have live music with delicious food. At this event, they had announcements, and big singers like GloRilla, Remi Wolf, etc. Along with this tour, the creators of the Outer Banks and Netflix have also announced that there will be a season five, and the release dates are unknown.
