December 8th, 2024, marked the end of pop-star Taylor Swift’s sensational Eras Tour. The record-breaking tour consisted of a journey through all of Swift’s albums in the form of eras. Each album had its own personal set which corresponded with the album’s theme, creating a 3.5-hour long show. Swift performed a total of 149 times across 5 continents, maintaining her showmanship at every show.

While Swift’s performance at the Eras Tour was impressive, so were the astounding number of records broken. Having over 10 million people in attendance total, the Eras Tour became one of the most attended tours in history, with some crowds containing numbers as high as 96,000 fans. The tour also shattered the record for the highest grossing tour ever, grossing over $2 billion. The list of records goes on and on.

Records weren’t the only thing the tour broke, but it also broke popular ticket-selling site, Ticketmaster. Back in November 2022 when the Eras Tour was first announced the demand for tickets was astronomical. Ticketmaster crashed within an hour, yet still managed to sell a total of 2.4 million tickets beforehand, breaking the record for the highest single day ticket sales ever by a music artist. Although not all tickets were purchased directly from fans. Scalpers resold tickets for outrageous prices, with the majority being over $1,000.

If fans couldn’t afford to watch Swift live in person, then they could watch the Eras Tour film, released in October of 2023. The film documents the full length of the concert, from the “Lover” era to “Midnights”, submersing fans in the experience as if they were truly there. With amazing vocals, outstanding visuals and camera quality, the Eras Tour film is a great alternative to physically attending.

Although, as of 2025, the film has become outdated. Swift made the addition of “The Tortured Poets Department” era May 9th, 2024, shortly after the albums release in April that same year. Not only was an era added, but the setlist was changed as a whole, removing some songs to make room for others. Some fans were left upset, but most fans were welcoming to this new act. “The Tortured Poets Department” immediately became an iconic part of the Eras Tour, including fan-favorite songs like “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” and “I Can Do It with A Broken Heart”.

The Eras Tour also contained many other iconic moments, including special guests, video premieres, malfunctions, and album announcements. Both “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” and “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” were announced at the Eras Tour during the surprise song part of the set, making for a special moment for everyone in attendance.

The Eras Tour will go down in history as one of the most impactful tours of all time, breaking records and making memories (and lots of friendship bracelets).
