Did you know that humans have not been on the moon since 1972? The Artemis II rocket carrying four astronauts is the first time since the 70’s space program that humans will revisit the moon even if they are not actually landing on it. Or that the rocket is called the Orion rocket not Artemis rocket? You might wonder how NASA names these rockets like Apollo and Artemis, the two names were selected to be the namesake for the rockets because they are the names of the Greek god and goddess of the sun and moon respectively. Did you know that the Artemis II is the first mission that carries a woman and a man of color to the moon? The 10 day mission is not actually going to land on the moon like the Apollo program as they will be conducting this mission as a surveillance and data collection program with the final objective to get data on how future missions will be conducted as well as constructing the ability to form a plan for future lunar missions. All in all, the fact of going back to the moon and NASA’s interest in having future lunar missions is very exciting and is a good connecting tool for uniting the nation towards a common goal again.

So rocket go up?
