Rick and Morty Season 9 is about to premiere and here is everything about it!
Rick and Morty is an Adult animated series on the Adult Swim Network. Its very popular amongst Young Adults for its Vulgar humor and crude writing. Throughout its 13 years (almost) of existence Rick and Morty have managed to garner a large audience within 91 episodes. Though there have been some trials and tribulations the show has continued to grow over these 13 years becoming one of the most popular Adult Swim shows of all time. As of right now Rick and Morty have just announced their newest season that being season 9.
The new season of Rick and Morty is expected to premiere first on Adult Swim on May 24th (2026) with streaming services like HBO max and Hulu adapting the show starting June 15th. This news came after Warner Brothers stated that the show is coming to the US earlier than expected. Originally the season was set to premiere 2 months later on August 31st 2026. Now fans of Rick and Morty will be able to see the season sooner after the year wait from the last season.
The reaction to the reveal that to Rick and Morty season 9 coming out have been relatively mixed. Some fans are annoyed that this show is even continuing after 13 years and many people are even comparing the shows longevity but mediocrity to Smiling friends brevity but greatness. Furthermore Luke Y. Thompson a journalist who supposedly has inside knowledge on the season states “The weirdest thing about Season 9 is that it leads with the worst episode in the bunch… I think all I can safely say is it’s something of a “lore” episode, on a show that’s as likely as not to have utter contempt for its own lore at any given moment. “ However sentiments about the new season aren’t all bad. Some people online are still excited about the new season given that Rick and Morty seems to fluctuate between good and bad seasons. For example Imdb ranks season 6 and 8/10 while season 7 was ranked a 6/10. Also a Journalist Nick Valdez states his thoughts on the new season. Stating “not only does this new season offer some very unique episodes that cover ground for its characters not seen before, but even has plenty of callbacks to the past for things fans might have forgotten about.” So it seems that the new season of Rick and Morty has a bit of a controversial start. As of writing this season 9 has not come out yet so time will tell what ends up of the new season.
