The hit Euphoria show is back with another crazy season and could come out with another soon after.

One of the biggest shows on HBO Max is finally coming out with a third season. The last season dropped on January 9th, 2022, and after four long years, the first episode premiered on April 12th, 2026. The show will be repeating the same process with one episode releasing every Sunday night at 9 pm with eight total episodes. The filming was cut back from originally being scheduled in the first half of 2024, to February of 2025 but the full trailer for this season was released on March 30th.
At the end of season 2, Rue Bennett (played by Zendaya) had apologized to everyone for how she had acted while relapsing and had made amends with Jules (played by Hunter Schafer), who was her partner previously, to heal what they had broken. Lexi, Cassie’s sister, had made a play relating to their high school lives which people were mad at her over for sharing. Cassie (played by Sydney Sweeney) ended up having a huge mental breakdown during the show and going off on her ex-best friend all having to do with Nate Jacobs (played by Jacob Elordi). Nate Jacobs had broken up with Cassie during the play stirring even more drama and this was Maddy Perez’s (played Alexa Demie, who is his ex-girlfriend in the show) opportunity to get back with Nate for revenge on her evil former best friend Cassie. Nate had also turned in his dad, Cal Jacobs, to the police for everything he did. It was an incredibly chaotic last episode and an emotional roller coaster to all.
In the new season, the setting is placed five years ahead of time when everyone has a different life. Cassie, unemployed, and Nate, who took over his father’s business, ended up staying together and are planning to get married while Cassie continuously bothers him about money. Rue was south of the Mexican border with a new, dangerous job to make up all the money that she owes Laurie. Jules is in art school pursuing her art career while doing everything she can to make more money without putting in all of the work. Maddy on the other hand works in Hollywood as a talent agency with her own creative part time jobs for extra cash, and Lexi is a showrunner assistant.
This season of the show is going to have a much more intense, dark theme with gore and more triggering sights that viewers may be sensitive to. It is much more extreme than the other seasons as they’re all grown now, showing how their lives have changed and what they have to do to survive. Some fans are saying that it is unrealistic with excessive adult scenes that don’t need to be included, but the writers say it’s all apart in making the show interesting and great.
Kat Hernandez, played by Barbie Ferreira, will not be returning to the show this season. She claimed on Instagram “After four years of getting to embody the most special and enigmatic character kat, I’m having to say a very teary-eyed goodbye.” She exclaimed that she thought that Euphoria didn’t show her full potential as an actor and that she could do so much more somewhere else. There will also be new characters such as Trisha Paytas, a social media influencer, Natasha Lyonne, Eli Roth, Sam Trammell, Bella Podaras, Matthew Willig, Bill Bodner, and many others with small and big roles.
Euphoria is still one of the hottest shows even in its four-year gap, and fans are extremely looking forward to seeing where the writers are going to take it. The episodes are only continuing to get crazier with constant plot twists that people aren’t going to stop talking about. Whether you find the show interesting or not, the show is extremely chaotic and has so much drama.
