Former Nittany Lions Head Coach James Franklin | GoMeanGreen.com

Long time Penn State Head Coach James Franklin was fired after the team lost again, marking their third straight loss. Franklin, who won the Big Ten with the Nittany Lions in 2016 has had a reputation of failing to beat top teams, with PSU having a 4-21 record against AP Top 10 opponents in the Franklin era. A loss to Oregon in Happy Valley started the losing streak, and then a loss to 0-4 UCLA and 3-2 Northwestern was the final nail in the coffin. To add “injury to insult” for Penn State fans, star QB Drew Allar suffered a broken ankle and will be out for the remainder of the season. –Jack Dusek
