The Preliminary SAT, or PSAT, is taking place on October 18 this school year. This test is a chance for all students who are planning on taking the SAT to “practice for the SAT,” as “its sections and questions follow the same format,” according to the College Board website. Taking the PSAT additionally grants access to College Board SAT prep services, such as a Khan Academy performance review with personalized practice questions and college search tools. 10th grade students are automatically registered for the PSAT ahead of their SAT next school year; 9th, 11th, and 12th grade students must register and pay an $18 fee. 9th, 10th, and 12th graders who are interested in taking the PSAT can get a PSAT form from the Main Office. –Boris Nusinzon
