Classes that should be implemented here at Northen High school.
Andre Garcia Feature/Q+A
Around now is the time that students are getting their new schedules and scheduling classes for next year. Northern offers a variety of courses that students can take in order to pursue their academic prowess. However Northern also lacks courses that many students desire to take. Below are students opinions on what classes should be added. Northern patriot scholar Jaxon Jacobs was interviewed regarding the rooster of classes we have available here at northern.

Q: What classes do you not like or wish to be altered in some way (this does not include how the teacher teaches the class but the subject material?)
A: “I guess if there’s one class I could change, something about it would be… maybe like the calculus classes here because I feel like, for some students, the amount of review that is in calc BC [is too much]. Maybe we… could learn more in Calc BC, or just not have to take Calc AB before Calc BC.
Q: If you were to add a class to the roster of classes what would it be?
A: “If I could add another class [since] I like stem classes so maybe if there where… more coding classes where you could use other languages… I know at our school we have java and python classes so maybe just.. another coding language would be a good addition.”
Q: Which class do you think is the most perfected and why?
A: “I would say our Calc 1 class at Northern is pretty perfected because… it covers all the topics you would learn in any normal Calc 1 class in college plus maybe even some more additional topics so I feel like its pretty perfected.”
Q: Does the current rotation of classes that you can pick from satisfy you?
A: “At Northern… I feel like we have a wide variety of pathways… we have basically every Ap class so I feel like we basically have a good variety of classes we can take.”
Q: Would the changing of teachers affect the previous questions in a positive or negative way?
A:”I feel like at Northern for most of the classes we have pretty good teachers but maybe, having multiple teachers for some of… the sciences might be nice like I know for math we have multiple teachers… and I feel like [most of the subjects lack teachers]… so maybe if we had multiple teachers for multiple subjects.”
