For a limited time, Chipotle has released a new protein option: Chipotle honey chicken. Seasoned with their secret blend of spices and Chipotle peppers and drizzled with wildflower honey before being served, this new protein option caters to the audience who enjoys a sweet and spicy combination. However, the chicken is more sweet than spicy, and has a good charred smokey flavor thanks to the caramelization of the honey when it is cooked on the grill.
Chipotle’s honey chicken has received many mixed reviews that have been shared all across social media.Tiktok, youtube, and instagram was flooded with honey chicken review posts after the release, and they received lots of attention. These reviews had influenced some students here at NHS to try this new protein option. Payton Mcculley said, “my friend convinced me to try it the week it came out, and every time I’ve gotten chipotle since then I have gotten the honey chicken. It’s that good.” Mcculley got the honey chicken in a quesadilla with white rice, guacamole, and sourcream on the side. “I will be so sad to see it go,” said Mcculley.
Although this protein option was introduced for a limited time, it is uncertain when Chipotle will get rid of the honey chicken. But, it is clear that it will be missed by many Chipotle fans.
